Year 11 Food Studies Excursion to Narana Aboriginal Cultural Centre

The Year 11 Foods students recently visited Narana, as part of their studies based on Foods in Australia. They were introduced to Aboriginal culture by an Elder Aunty Kerry, who shared many special stories, along with information on hunting tools and weapons. The group spent time feeding native animals on arrival, an information session followed, where they enjoyed tasting delicious bush foods, while some even turned their hand to boomerang throwing at the end. The student testimonials that follow, reflect the enjoyment felt by students, in summing up the overall success of the first visit by our Foods students to Narana. Thank you to Mr Crook and Ms Morris, who kindly attended the excursion. Mrs Coogan
