Koling Wada-Ngal Day

On Monday 17 October St Joseph's will be holding celebrations for 'Koling Wada-ngal' Day, which translates to 'Let Us Walk Together' in Wadawurrung Language and will be celebrated by all Geelong Catholic schools.

During the lunchtime break we will be organising some events which aim to recognise and show solidarity with First Nations Peoples in the spirit of ongoing Reconciliation efforts from schools in the Geelong region.

Events will include:

  • Music entertainment on the Zampatti Oval scoreboard.
  • A solidary walk in the Zampatti & Reconciliation Garden area.
  • In the lead up to the day a fundraiser will be held selling large iced donuts in the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. Donuts are $3 each with proceeds donated to Opening the Doors Foundation.**

If you would like a donut on Koling Wada-ngal Day, please pre-purchase from your homeroom teacher this week by bringing your $3 to homeroom and getting your name signed as paid.
