Community Service

St Joseph’s students participate in a number of Community Service programs within the local and wider communities. These include:

  • Tutoring of children who are new arrivals in Geelong, in particular those from African countries
  • Edmund Rice Camps for disadvantaged kids and families
  • Relay for Life
  • Red Cross Blood Bank
  • Raising money for the Andrew Love Centre
  • Project Compassion
  • MOVember, raising money for Prostrate Cancer research
  • Visiting Kalkee Aged care facility
  • 40-hour Famine
  • Awareness raising of various social justice issues, including the Social Justice Cage
  • Casual Dress fundraising days for various charities and projects

The biggest event on the school calendar is Edmund Rice Day, in which over $20,000 is raised by the students to support the Christian Brothers with several education and medical initiatives in East Africa
