St Joseph’s students participate in a number of Community Service programs within the local and wider communities. These include:
- Tutoring of children who are new arrivals in Geelong, in particular those from African countries
- Edmund Rice Camps for disadvantaged kids and families
- Relay for Life
- Red Cross Blood Bank
- Raising money for the Andrew Love Centre
- Project Compassion
- MOVember, raising money for Prostrate Cancer research
- Visiting Kalkee Aged care facility
- 40-hour Famine
- Awareness raising of various social justice issues, including the Social Justice Cage
- Casual Dress fundraising days for various charities and projects
The biggest event on the school calendar is Edmund Rice Day, in which over $20,000 is raised by the students to support the Christian Brothers with several education and medical initiatives in East Africa
